Migration guide
Switching from IPTV Smarters to Sidstuga
3 minutes · Android phone, tablet or Android TV · v1.1.69+
Why switch?
- No ads, ever. Sidstuga is a paid app (€0.99/month or €7.99/year) — not freemium with banner or pre-roll ads.
- Built for Android TV. Full d-pad navigation, optimised for TCL/Amlogic/Realtek boxes, surface-recovery loop that silently rebinds dropped streams without a channel restart.
- End-to-end encrypted Cloud Sync (optional). Favourites and watch history mirror across phone, tablet and TV. Keys never leave your device — Sidstuga's server cannot read your data.
- DVR + catch-up + EPG scheduling. Record any live channel locally, rewind up to 7 days where the provider supports catch-up, schedule reminders from the EPG.
- 8 languages, RTL ready. English, Português (PT/BR), Español, Français, Italiano, Deutsch, العربية.
3-step migration
Step 1 — Find your playlist in IPTV Smarters
Open IPTV Smarters and go to Settings → Edit Playlist (or long-press the active playlist on the home screen). Note down:
- Xtream Codes playlist:
server URL,username,password. - M3U playlist: the full
http://…URL or the local.m3u/.m3u8file.
You don't need to delete the Smarters playlist — it stays where it is until you uninstall the app.
Step 2 — Install Sidstuga from Google Play
Open the Play Store on your Android device and search for Sidstuga, or tap this link. Sidstuga is €0.99/month or €7.99/year with a 3-day free trial — no card needed to start.
Step 3 — Paste the same URL / credentials
On first launch Sidstuga shows an 8-language wizard, then asks you to add a source. Pick Xtream Codes or M3U — whichever matches what you used in Smarters — and paste the same values. Sidstuga validates with the server, downloads the channel list and the EPG (next 24 hours) and you're watching.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to re-subscribe to my IPTV provider?
No. Your provider subscription is independent of the player. Sidstuga just talks to the same server.
Will favourites and watch history carry over from Smarters?
Smarters stores them locally and doesn't export — so favourites need re-marking once in Sidstuga. After that, the optional encrypted Cloud Sync keeps them aligned across every device.
Does Sidstuga come with channels?
No. Sidstuga is a media player. It does not host, index, recommend or distribute any IPTV streams. You bring your own credentials for a service you are independently authorised to use.
Can I keep both apps installed during the trial?
Yes. They don't conflict.
