How to set up Xtream Codes in Sidstuga
2 minutes · Android phone, tablet or Android TV · v1.1.x+
What you need
- Xtream Codes credentials from an IPTV provider you've already subscribed to: server URL, username, password.
- Android device running Android 7.0 (API 24) or later.
- An internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
Step 1 — Install Sidstuga from Google Play
Open the Play Store and search for Sidstuga, or tap this link. Tap Install. Sidstuga is €0.99/month or €7.99/year — no ads, cancel anytime.
Step 2 — Pick your language
On first launch Sidstuga shows an 8-language wizard. Pick English, Português (PT or BR), Español, Français, Italiano, Deutsch or العربية. You can change it later in Settings → General → Language without restarting.
Step 3 — Choose Xtream Codes as the source
Sidstuga supports two source types: Xtream Codes (server + user + pass) and M3U/M3U8 (URL or local file). On the source picker, select Xtream Codes.
Got an M3U list instead? See our M3U setup guide.
Step 4 — Enter your credentials
Type the three values your IPTV provider gave you:
- Server URL — usually looks like
http://provider.com:8080. Include the port if there is one. - Username — your account login.
- Password — your account password.
Tap Continue. Sidstuga validates the credentials with the server and reports back if anything is wrong (wrong password, expired subscription, server unreachable, etc).
Step 5 — Watch live TV
Once authenticated, Sidstuga downloads your channel list and the EPG (programme guide) for the next 24 hours. Channel categories appear in the sidebar; tap any channel to start watching.
The EPG cache survives cold-start, so the second time you open the app it'll be instant — see Settings → Guide → Refresh interval for cache control.
Troubleshooting
- "Subscription invalid or expired (HTTP 401)" — wrong password or your provider's subscription has lapsed. Contact them.
- "Server denied access (HTTP 403)" — IP-blocked or geo-restriction. Check with your provider.
- "IPTV server didn't reply in time" — server is slow or unreachable. Try again later.
- "Codec failed — try another source" — your device's hardware decoder doesn't support that channel's format. Most live channels work; some niche providers use uncommon codecs.
For everything else, email support@sidstuga.app.
What Sidstuga does NOT do
Sidstuga is a media player. It is not a content provider, host, distributor or aggregator. The app does not include, recommend, index or distribute any IPTV streams or channel lists. You supply your own credentials for a service you are independently authorised to use, and you alone are responsible for ensuring such use complies with applicable law and the terms of your IPTV provider.
